Sandown Sports Club (Surrey)

Comment: A wide choice of sporting and fitness activities. The club boasts 4 squash courts, 2 saunas, a solarium, 3 ski slopes, a modern fully equipped gymnasium and a dance and aerobics studio. Visit the site for the latest news and details of forthcoming events, open practice times and prices.

Bearsden (Glasgow)

Comment: A 100 metre skiing and boarding slope fitted with a water sprinkler system which makes for better sliding in dry weather. The second slope is devoted to early turners where you can practice in safety. The website includes information about the club, forthcoming club events and membership information.

Calshot Activities Centre (Hampshire)

Comment: All three Calshot slopes are covered in a new surface which has no holes, is easy to ski on and soft to fall on. All slopes have lifts, are floodlit and being inside their Sunderland Hangar offer an ideal learning environment whatever the weather.

Ackers, The (Birmingham)

Comment: Their 70 acre semi-rural site offers a wide range of activities including Skiing, Snowboarding, Climbing, Bridgering, Canoeing, Kayaking, Bellboating, Archery, Team Challenge Days, Management Training & Human Resource Development Courses, Orienteering, 4 Wheel Drive Course and more!

Kidsgrove Ski Centre (Staffordshire)

Comment: This slope is set on the site of one of the first artificial ski centres in Great Britain, set in the beautiful mature parkland of Bathpool Park. Details of events can usually be seen on this website, in the club's regular newsletter or on the notice boards in the ski lodge.

Christchurch Ski and Leisure Centre (Dorset)

Comment: Offers a range of activities and entertainment for children and adults, including skiing and snowboarding lessons, ski-bobbing, ringos, birthday parties, bar and restaurant, and an Alpine Adventure Park with aerial skyway, trampolines, climbing wall, slides, alpine fort and play area.

Plas y Brenin (Gwynedd)

Comment: This ski slope is suited to all skiers and snowboarders and features a variety of slope angles, a full mist system and flood lighting. On their site you will find information about all the courses and facilities on offer. Print off a copy of their online form and send it to them to make a booking.

Rossendale Ski Centre (Lancashire)

Comment: Situated in Rawtenstall, in the picturesque Rossendale Valley, Ski Rossendale's slopes are divided into three main areas. There's a main slope, an intermediate slope and nursery slopes. Go online for prices and opening times, details of forthcoming events and holiday courses.

Swadlincote Ski Centre (Derbyshire)

Comment: Experience the fun of skiing and snowboarding on these slopes, which are over 150 metres long and lubricated with water for fast, smooth sliding all year round. Offers superb facilities, including a nursery slope for beginners and a main run for recreational use.

Glenmore Lodge (Aviemore)

Comment: At the forefront of the development of skills in mountaineering, climbing, skiing and canoeing. The main attractions at the Lodge have always been the magnificent mountains, rivers, forests and lochs of the Scottish Highlands but now they have great indoor facilities as well.
