Dubai Hotel Voted World's Best
A hotel in Dubai has been names as the world's leading hotel by a panel of travel experts.
Dubai's exclusive sail-shaped Burj Al Arab hotel has been named as the World's Leading Hotel at this year's World Travel Awards.
The hotel, owned by the Jumeirah hotel group, was awarded the prize after coming top in an international poll of travel professionals, which determines winners for each of the award ceremony's categories every year.
The iconic Burj Al Arab hotel, which dominates Dubai's skyline, beat off competition from other leading hotels across the world to be named as the most desirable accommodation spot for its deluxe facilities.
With room prices starting from $1,000 (£536,000) per night, a stay at the 321-metre tall seafront hotel is beyond the reach of travellers on a budget, but for those who can afford it, a stay at the Burj Al Arab guarantees a luxurious experience, with a team of highly trained butlers on hand to cater to the every whim of its guests.
Each suite has its own dining and living area, as well as an office area complete with laptop and internet access facilities, while guests can even select from a special pillow menu when they wish to take it easy.
Those dining in the hotel's Al Mahara restaurant, one of eight on the site, can even travel in style to eat by undertaking a three-minute virtual submarine voyage to access the eatery.
